Long weekend is synonymous to vacation, according to my personal dictionary. haha.
We (Me, Jomz and bff Desiree) decided to take up north and do a food crawl.
Our first stop is Aling Lucing’s Sisig House located at G. Valdez St. Angeles City, Pampanga. It’s your usual carinderia vibe but upgraded version. We ordered inihaw na hito (Php180.00), Ensalada (Php90.00) and their famous pork sisig (Php180.00), five plain rice (Php20.00/order) and softdrinks (Php40.00) total of Php590.00 – Php197.00 per head. The sisig as their specialty is superb and we love the inihaw na hito as well, not obvious because we have extra rice on the side.
Next stop for dessert is Susie’s Cuisine located at Hilda St. Angeles City, Pampanga, 1.4km away from Aling Lucing’s. It is famous for it’s variety of kakanin. We wanted to try most of their product that is why we ordered per slice. The violet one is ube kalamay (Php20.00/slice), the white one with sauce is mochi (Php8.00/pc) and the other white with coconut on top is tibok-tibok (Php20.00/slice) which is their bestseller. My favorite is ube kalamay. It’s creamy and smooth. Since our stomach are full yet we want more, haha, we ordered cassava ( Php120.00/box) and caramel inipit (Php180.00/box). Total of Pph364.00 – Php122.00/head.
The day is not yet over but our stomach is so full so we decided to go straight to our resort Green Canyon Eco Art Resort located at Bamban, Tarlac, 20km away from Susie’s Cuisine – approximately 35mins. Wait for my post about our experience in the resort.
After few hours of rest, relaxation and munching of caramel inipit from Susie’s Cuisine, dinner time has come and our stomach is again ready to venture to another food experience.
For dinner we ate at the resto inside the resort, Palette. We had Bagnet Kare-kare(Php350.00), Tuyo Pasta (Php250.00), 5-cheese pizza (Php550.00), one plain rice (Php35.00) and two hot tea (Php75.00/order) + service charge total of Php1,600.00 – Php534.00 per head.
The bagnet is so crunchy, worth every calorie and cholesterol, the tuyo pasta is great as well but my favorite is the 5 cheese pizza (mozzarella, parmesan, white cheese, cheddar, romano cheese) its AUMAZZZIIINNNG. the cheese melts in your mouth and dough is still in good quality even stayed overnight.
Next day we availed the free breakfast at the resort. We had longsilog, tocilog and corned beef silog served with coffee and cucumber shake. My favorite is the corned beef silog.
After our hotel check-out we headed to Lola Nors Meryendahan located at Mabalacat, Pampanga, 11km away from the resort, roughly 20.mins. We had pancit luglug (Php85.00/order), chocolate batirol shake (Php120.000), chocolate batirol cake (Php150.00), tokwa’t baboy (Php220.00), Buko (Php50.00) and plain rice (Php30.00) total of Php740.00 – Php247.00 per head.
Before heading back to Bulacan we stopped at Nathaniel’s Bakeshop located at San Fernando, Pampanga to take-out buko salad (Php320.00) then few meters away is Pampanga’s Best factory outlet, we stopped and purchased corned beef. Wrong decision that I bought 1pack only. The corned beef is delicious and cheap -Php17.00 only per pack. I can’t find one in Manila.
Total expenses for our Pampanga food crawl excluding pasalubong is Php3,294.00 or Php1,098.00 per person (2days and 1 night).
It’s it our honor to experience Pampanga’s culture through its food.
